GR Silver considers Plomosas and San Marcial to be the most important projects in the mining district. The Company controls key concessions adjacent to important projects in the Rosario Mining District and is therefore well placed for continued growth and to take advantage of future business opportunities. The Company possesses all exploration licenses and permits required for exploration on both projects and, in the case of Plomosas, it also has necessary permits for exploitation.
The Plomosas Project is located approximately 5 km to the northwest of GR Silver’s San Marcial Project, in the Rosario Mining District, Sinaloa, allowing synergies for exploration, drilling, resource expansion and future development. Both projects present a geological setting, located along the western edge of the Sierra Madre Occidental (SMO), resembling the San Dimas Mining District, which has produced 600 Moz silver and 11 Moz gold. The Plomosas Project includes an extensive un-released recent and historical drilling database completed by First Majestic Inc. and Grupo Mexico S.A. de C.V. The combined infrastructure and data between the projects offer the opportunity for integration of exploration and future resource definition in a series of drilled targets. Together, the Plomosas Project and the San Marcial Project provide GR Silver ownership of over 9,764 ha. In total, the Company portfolio consists of over 29,000 ha, controlling most of the silver-gold-lead-zinc mineralized zones identified in the eastern Rosario Mining District.
PLOMOSAS SILVER PROJECT
GR Silver Mining owns 100% of the Plomosas Silver Project located near the historic mining village of La Rastra, within the Rosario Mining District. The silver and gold mineralization display the alteration, textures, mineralogy and deposit geometry characteristics of a low sulphidation epithermal silver-gold-base metal vein/breccia mineralized system. Previous exploration focused on Pb-Zn-Ag-Au polymetallic shallow mineralization, hosted in NW-SE structures in the vicinity of the Plomosas mine. The E-W portion of the mineralization remains under-explored. Plomosas and San Marcial collectively represent a geological setting resembling the multimillion-ounce San Dimas Mining District which has historically produced over 600 Moz silver and 11 Moz gold over the span of more than 100 years. All three projects are located on the western edge of the Sierra Madre Occidental.
SAN MARCIAL PROJECT
San Marcial is a near-surface, high-grade silver, lead, and zinc open-pit amenable project. GR Silver Mining is currently expanding its NI 43-101 resource estimate at the San Marcial project, which contains 36 Moz AgEq (Indicated), 11 Moz AgEq (Inferred), by defining new high-grade gold and silver targets along the project’s 6 km mineralized trend. GR Silver Mining is currently carrying out underground development and additional drilling at San Marcial Project.
GR Silver Mining’s other projects are situated in areas attractive for future development in the vicinity of Plomosas and San Marcial in the Rosario Mining District.
Our exploration team has over 10 years of experience in the Rosario District with a record of successful discoveries. Our 250+ sq. km. exploration portfolio covers some of the most prospective areas in the Rosario Mining District.
